I covered the vinyl with a clear license plate cover because I think rocks will eventually destroy the vinyl and leave a big mess. I ended up ordering the Bell license plate mount plate and attached it to the grill area with zap straps from Home Depot (the big black commercial electric ones). I purchased a standard size vinyl plate and attached it to a plastic plate holder, then attached it to the bracket just like a license plate would. It does not block the front radiator or intercooler and does not effect performance. I was advised there is no front tow hitch on the atlas to attach the license plate to. This license plate bracket is designed to mount on the lower grill area without having to drill any holes or any modifications to your bumper/grill. License plate brackets make it easy and convenient to mount license plates, but their usual mounting locations on the bumper. Please see product page for other models currently supported.
